I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your

letter of the 10th. August regarding the 5.5. "Kefue",

This wom1 arrived in Hongkong on the afternoon

of the 4th. August, and orders were thereupon given that she

was to unload all cargo consigned to the Philippine Islands

which was known to be or was under suspicion of being the

property of enemies of Great Britain or which was consigned te

erder.

Particulars are coming to hand daily regarding

carge consigned to order, and,in cases where this Government is satisfied as to the ownership, such cargo will go forward

with the ship,

This Government is soting in the matter under

general instructions from the Imperial Government.
